Repeat

It's that time of year again, when we play a concert of Portuguese music at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church in San Jose. Although I'm told this is our last - the money from the Portuguese Cultural Ministry has finally run out. We must have done almost 15 annual concerts, to celebrate  Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas. - and the Portuguese settlers in San Jose. We've played just about everything for orchestra by a Portuguese composer that is playable  - and some things  that really weren't. We even recorded a  CD of the Violin Concerto by Luis de Freitas Branco, and I've become quite a fan of  Joly Braga Santos (the early symphonies, at least). Sad that it's coming to an end.
In the main, Catherine (one of the French Horns) is pointing out were she thinks the best photo should be. In the extra, the front of the church - it was built in 1914. The evenings in San Jose are gorgeous this time of year.
