Today finds us in Sydney -- not the Australian one, but the Cape Breton one.  We had an interesting excursion to Iona, a recreation of the settlement the original Scottish immigrants to this area built.

One of the sights we saw there was this marvelous horse with his lovely pendulous lower lip and long, shaggy beard.  He looked very stoic, standing in his stable door, gazing out over the beautiful waters of the Bras d'Or Lakes.

Extra collage shows the jaunty nautical flag sign for Sydney at the dock, a giant fiddle (there are annual music festivals held here), a pretty view of one of the Scottish settler houses, and Mr. W rediscovering his inner child!

*  Each is the Scottish Gaelic word for Horse.
