Summertime

We have had a period of quite chilly weather, with a cool wind. It hasn’t felt like summer, certainly no heat. And not really the kind of weather associated with those “summer songs”.

I played this CD early evening. Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess has some great tunes (given that Miles Davis/Gil Evans twist in this late ‘50’s recording) and Summertime has to be one of the best. Although “Summertime, and the living is easy …..” isn’t how it feels just at the moment. But, looking at the forecast ahead, in these parts we have a one day heatwave to look forward to on Friday. 26° is unimaginably hot.
