A Submerged Dam

We cycled 33km around a circuit of the East side of the Elan Valley dams today.
The first 6 km, up to the visitor centre, are on a delightful off road path which has sets of gates every so often so farmers can move their stock across without the animals taking off along the path.  Very entertaining for us ... particularly as the sheepdog where we stopped was called Shep - for anyone who remembers Blue Peter :-)

Once up by the reservoirs the views open out and with it being relativity still and sunny it was a good ride.  My blip is the Garreg Ddu Dam, which looks like a viaduct as the top of the dam is submerged.  Higher up the valleys, near to  Craig Goch the ground is very dry and water levels quite low - see extra.

Tomorrow we are intending to ride over the Garreg Ddu and on into the Claerwen Valley.
