Iceberg

This beautiful climbing rose is growing up one of old sloping crab apple trees in a corner of the garden.  It really has had a growth spurt this year and is weaving itself in and out of the branches towards the top of the tree.

T and K and the children drove to Bristol Airport this morning praying that their flight to Rhodes was still scheduled and not cancelled.  I have just received a text from T informing me they had to wait another two hours but are now safely at their hotel on the island.

Today I was supposed to be meeting an old friend who lives in Australia and taking her down to Devon but unfortunately she has Covid while staying with some mutual friends in Thames Ditton.  Hopefully we will be able to meet briefly before she flies home.  What a disappointment.
