Greenway

Today L and I drove down to Greenway, Agatha Christie's home owned now by the National Trust.  It is still homely and comfortable inside and one can imagine Agatha and her husband living there with all their collections and interesting objects.  After a snack in the courtyard under the trees we then walked down in the heat through woodland to the boathouse on the River Dart.  The plunge pool on the lower level inside was the scene of a murder in one of the Hercule Poirot tv murder mysteries.
The day was again very hot - when we arrived home L's conservatory was 45 degrees - fortunately 10 degrees cooler outside!

Extra photos of the River Dart and the palm tree I was lying under in L's garden.
