Foxgloves and Daisies

So June. We collected William from school and drove to Bradgate Park hoping for refreshment. I wouldn't say that the staff in the tearoom were motivated. 'The oven's turned off at 3.30 pm and the only things you can have are cakes, crisps and cool drinks.' All with a blank stare. 'And we're about to close.' The clock struck 4 after we'd gone outside.

But never  mind. We each had a Crunchie Blast, a Crunchie flavoured ice cream on a stick, and then went into the park, only for a short time because it was getting on.

Luckily, I spotted a fawn and his Mum not too far away. We showed William. He was able to tell his Dad that he'd seen a Bambi.

He also found an indigo blue feather, possibly from a magpie, and a small blue-grey one which was probably from a wood pigeon.

These beautiful foxgloves and daisies were growing at the edge of the picnic area, particularly stunning when backlit.
