Helm Cragg and Grasmere

We decided on an early start and it paid off. We were at the top of Helm Cragg by 10am, it was warm. The views were fabulous, we hung around for a while admiring the view before making our descent. We passed 12-14 volunteers with spades heading up the Cragg to repair the path. I thanked them for their amazing work (it might have made a better blip).
We had lunch in Grasmere, more afternoon drinking and a fish and chip tea!
Extras include: Tom on the top of the Cragg. The Lion. Easedale tarn, I'd taken my swimsuit but hadn't realised I'd have to drop back down into the valley and up again, one for another day......
