Welcome Committee

Captain Pugwash was the only childhood toy left for me to put in the bedroom to welcome back home our youngest son (‘the traveller’) this evening, Bagpuss and Zippy having been given away to his niece last week before he left. 

Since discovering that he would be back with us just one week later, for a much longer stay (of indeterminate duration), I have cleaned and refreshed his bedroom and we’ve ordered a new, faster broadband service to enable him to work from home. Our lives have been turned upside down in the past week or two for various reasons but we are glad to have him back and are looking forward to some good long chats. Meanwhile, he’s just eaten a huge meal with us and has now borrowed my car to go and visit friends. Just like old times.
