A day at Margate

I’ve never been before. It’s a fantastically fast train journey from St Pancras International. We went to walk on the beach, and look at the sea. But also to go to a Tracey Emin exhibition. She has done a series of black and white drawings and paintings of her recent experience of bladder cancer, and very drastic surgery. I’ve never seen pain, fear and hope so powerfully expressed. Margate itself is delightful I think. Lots of nice cafes and the old town area is lovely (and proper old!)
