Goodbye Pokolbin, hello Maitland

Today we departed Pokolbin, but not before visiting the Hunter Valley Gardens. Established in 2003, their 10 themed sections span 14 hectares. The main was taken in the Indian garden. Through the arch is the Chinese garden.

The main doesn't provide a context so I have included extras: the border garden; and the Oriental garden. They give an idea of the spectacular nature and diversity of this amazing park. It will be a riot of colour in spring.

Enjoyable as it was, Pokolbin and surrounds are one giant wine trail. There was no true centre to this location, a source of frustration. The value has been in getting away and picking up a few bottles of great wine

We have moved on to Maitland, a decent sized town with real stuff happening. More exploration tomorrow.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear. Have a good weekend all.
