Matilda

Well this was a very exciting day.

Firstly it was transition day when the children find out about their classes for next year. This is especially exciting as CyclopsJnr will be going into P4, and in P4 they shake the classes up. So not only will CyclopsJnr get a new classroom teacher but he will get new classmates for the first time after being together with the same class for three years. The shake-up has been well received as CyclopsJnr is with some people he likes (and NOT with some people he is likes less) and he is reunited with a few kids he was friendly with in nursery. He is also with a particular girl that he is keen on, who had previously been in a different class. He'd had his fingers crossed that he'd be with her and he sat next to her today. Now did I say CyclopsJnr will get a new teacher too? Because nope, he's getting a job-share comprised of one of his P3 teachers and one of his P2 teachers! He seems happy with that.

Second exciting event was we three attended the P6 musical! Matilda! P6 is the oldest class at this school so the annual P6 show is a right of passage thing. So great that this could happen for the P6s after two years without. And this one was the first one we three attended as CyclopsJnr was very little in nursery last time we had the chance. It didn't even start until 7pm. We had a lovely time, it was terrific. So impressed that there was solos and dancing and gymnastics and comedy, and that they managed to showcase some great performances whilst also involving everyone in the year. It was the closing night and the kids were jubilant, and gave the teachers flowers, and it was just LOVELY.
