Not the usual angle

This is not the way I usually see the parkrun field; normally I would be well towards the back, behind all these guys. Today, however, I did some volunteering. At the start, the pathway can be quite crowded and there is a danger that runners might collide with the park benches and waste bins that line the route, so the first part of my role was to stand in front of one of the benches and warn folk to keep clear. It can be a bit hair-raising with a few hundred runners thundering towards you! Fortunately all passed safely in a few seconds.

It was another blustery day, so I was quite glad I didn’t have to run against the wind today. It seems to have become windier as the day has progressed, making even a spot of gardening not very enjoyable.

Still, the sun is shining, so it’s not all bad. I found it was a bit more sheltered down by the pond this afternoon - the cygnets were keeping their heads down though (extra).
