Heat Haze Everywhere

You should be able to see the end of Lake Geneva from this col.

Usually at this time of the year there are many bouquetin on the Dent d’Oche just over the border from us in France. However even at over 2200m the temperatures are over 30 degrees and the alpine animals are finding places to get out of the sun either lower down or on the northern shaded sides. I was certainly glad to find shade in the forest on the way back down from today’s walk. Extra is the view from the Dent d’Oche hut.

Now we are melting at home, the cats don’t know what to do with themselves and to make matters worse there is a wedding party going on about a kilomètre away below us. Noise rises and we can’t close the windows! They have never experienced this before … we got them just before covid.
