Birdie...Magpie-lark

It is dark here by 5.0pm as it's winter time, so I was in the motel reading on my kindle when a strange noise started up outside.... rain!! Most unexpected. 
I'd been for a short walk earlier and this little bird seemed to enjoy my apple core..no idea what species it is but someone will know I'm sure. 
Bought a hot roast chicken, some fresh coleslaw and a small salad for dinner.. along with a G&T and the film 'Atonement ' on Netflix I'm more than happy....
