Little Amal

Ruby came round this morning as she had an appointment at the doctor’s which was subsequently cancelled then a later appointment given for this evening.
I told her l was going into Bradford to try and see Little Amal.
I’d seen in this site that she visited other cities and thought l’d missed my chance until last week when l saw she would be in City Park at midday.
So we got the train in and luckily we saw her just before she made her entrance.
Then we watched her interact with the crowds and found it very moving.

Little Ansal is a 3.5 meter puppet of a ten year old Syrian refugee girl searching for her mother and to find a new home.
She represents all displaced children and has travelled in over 12 countries to ask “Don’t forget about us”.
Bradford Metropolitan District Council who l often criticise but has a very good record which they should be proud of for helping refugees who are fleeing war and persecution.
Lots of new initiatives currently in place to help lots of new arrivals from Ukraine.
It’s also Refugee Week…but we all know it’s an all year round need.
