Midsummer Blues

A bittersweet day.

A funeral in the cool calm of ancient St Cadfan's church.   A life well lived and fondly remembered.

Warm summer sunshine at the cemetery.   Mother Nature smiling down.

I was trusted to keep C's Meg quiet during the service celebrating the life of her other owner.   She was as good as gold.   It was lovely to meet the families afterwards if tinged with sadness at the circumstances.

Iris latifolia in the garden.   Twenty six years ago I collected a few seeds of it in the Pyrenees and have managed to keep it going ever since.   An awful lot has happened in the intervening years but the sun still shines and the world still turns.
