Wound up in Wexford

More cranky work

The background fabric arrived yesterday, so my first job today was to join all the nine patch squares into a line with sashing of background between - the strip thus created measures just under 70 inches [(9 x 7)+(6 x 2) - half an inch or so for each seam].

I then continued to sew together strips of varying width to make another seven squares - cranky rail fence, also nine inches square.  And I had time to fasten these squares into a strip.

In between, I stripped the bed, washed, dried and ironed the sheets, and put them back on the bed ready for this evening.

W has put new buffers under the toilet seat - the old ones were falling apart, making the seat a little precarious.  But of course the new buffers were not quite the same size as the old ones, so he had to drill new holes for the prongs.  Nothing seems simple at the moment.
