Spot the Dog

A hard-working sheepdog is almost completely immersed in the pool above this small waterfall.  We were walking up the side of Blencathra when we came upon a couple of farmers moving a flock of sheep up to a higher pasture.  It was hot today and this sheepdog was moving swiftly around the flock doing its herding job – see the tongue in the Extra – when it headed for the pool and flopped in to cool itself and take a drink.

There were two dogs and it was a privilege to see them doing their work, quite thrilling.
