Prairie

A glimpse of the American Prairie currently being created at Wakehurst. The main plant in flower at the moment is the yellow Coreopsis.

The mature (and far longer-established) tree in the foreground is, somewhat incongruously, a Snow Gum (Eucalyptus pauciflora subsp. niphophila) from the Snowy Mountains in eastern Australia.
