Changing weather

Well today has been one of two halves. Beginning again with beautiful sunshine and ending with torrential rain.

Very busy with fire lighting sessions for Dave, using flint and steel, charcloth and straw to start a fire. The groups he took were very pleased, and same with Jon whose spent most of the day shepherding people onto canoes. Families, even babies fitted up with little buoyancy aids. One pair of boys tipped their canoe over, and ended up very wet, but they had been messing about! Jon wasn't very happy with them! It isn't deep, thankfully.

I did a bit of whittling, a bit of reading and at 6 o'clock when the heavens opened, a lot of mopping up and rushing around to move all my stuff. Some how the tepee let in water, and soaked the whole floor. We have rescued things now, and arranged our bedding off the ground to dry. Hopefully before bedtime! Now I remember the joys of camping! Lol. As Dave has 2 spare camp beds we have put them in the tepee and that gets us off the floor ready for tonight's rain. If it turns out the leaks are from above...then I guess we will get wet!

Still enjoying time away....as the alternative is being at work, I would rather be in a wet sleeping bag in a leaking tent.
