Llafur Llaw ~ Manual Labour

“Hinduism is the religion of the king. If you want something – you ask the king. Christianity is the religion of the prince. If you want something – you don’t go to the king, you ask the prince. Islam is the religion of the ambassador. If you want something – you don’t go to the king, you ask the ambassador. Buddhism is the religion of the manual labourer. If you want something – you do it yourself.”
—Lama Chhi’med Rig’dzin Rinpoche, Quoted by Ngakpa Chögyam in 'Wisdom Eccentrics'

Roedd heddiw diwrnod egnïol.

Rhedais i 10 cilomedr yn gynnar yn y bore - penderfynais i i redeg i lawr i'r dre trwy'r parc ar hyd yr afon.  Roedd e'r ffordd roeddwn i'n arfer cymryd i fynd i'r gwaith ac roedd e mor brydferth ag erioed.

Treuliais i'r rhan fwyaf o'r prynhawn crafu'r wal lle roedd y paent wedi'i ddifrodi gan law trwy'r to. Bydd e'n cymryd mwy o oriau cyn mae'r wal yn barod am gôt newydd o baent.  Mae'n dda i fod yn gwneud ychydig o waith o gwmpas y tŷ, yn enwedig lle mae e wedi bod angen ei wneud ers tro.

Today was an energetic day.

I ran 10 kilometers early in the morning - I decided to run down town through the park along the river. It was the way I used to go to work and it was as beautiful as ever.

I spent most of the afternoon scraping the wall where the paint was damaged by rain through the roof. It will take more hours before the wall is ready for a fresh coat of paint. It's good to be doing some work around the house, especially where it has been needed for some time.
