Homewards

We had a really enjoyable evening last night. The veggie menu was a bit “left-field” for our guests but they ate it all and enjoyed it. It was good to get to know Katy and Colin’s friends a bit better - lots of laughs and interesting conversation.

Ailie picked me up at 9.30 and we drove up the valley to Barrowburn. She felt a bit light-headed on the initial climb but at the top had some coffee which she says she needs to raise her BP. After that it was an enjoyable round of 6 miles via the place Robert Lumsden murdered Sarah in 1610. (It can be googled and was a real happening.) we last did the walk on 31 January. It was perfect walking weather - sunshine but a strong cooling breeze.

The lower meadows were full of wild flowers but they didn’t photograph well so I chose this one of us returning to the valley - I like the cloud shadows and felt the composition was balanced.

In other news - the boys had their eyes tested today and James needs glasses. It’s something to do with each eye working fine on its own but not well together. I wonder if that might help with his reading.

Today I reached the 600 mile mark of my virtual walk from Lands End to John O’Groats in a year. Only 287 to go!
