Pink!

This old rose bush is all that’s left of a row of cottages that were demolished many years ago, maybe it was someone’s prize rose. It’s often bedevilled by mildew but this year it’s much so far escaped it. The colour is so enormously cheering, especially with the lavender mallow threading its way through. There’s no scent but for once I don’t mind the lack of it, the visual pleasure is enough.
