Open gardens

This was the weekend when the villagers opened their gardens, proceeds going to the maintenance of our Old Barn Hall. Gardens large and small were carefully tended to look their best by the end of June. WI friend Jill’s garden was on the tour. It is a small garden full of interest. Norman and I offered our services to be at the gate for an hour, greeting people and checking their tickets. It was a very sociable session, meeting friends and strangers, chatting to all and sundry.
It was a bright breezy afternoon and in between welcoming visitors N and I were fascinated watching the sky. (Extra) There were two levels of clouds, small patches of cumulus and, way up high, fast moving cirrus. Planes leaving Heathrow left con trails which were soon scattered in the wind. Sometimes Jill has sightings of red kites, but there were none to be seen today.
