Red Sand

A beautiful day, bright & sunny but with a cooling wind. Cl & A took us to Bossington for a walk along the salt marsh & shingle ridge to Porlock Weir, returning on the waymarked coast path which runs other inland side of the salt marsh. The marsh is relatively new, forming since sea water breached the shingle ridge in 1996, flooding the grazing land behind. As the tide was well out we managed to cross below the breach & stay down on the shingle, with patches of red sand as we approached Porlock Weir.
