How is your dinner view...

...cause this was our view from our dinner table this evening.

Mrs TFP and I are starting a couple of days away. We had dinner in front of the huge bay windows that basically give this view of the twilight fishing boats heading out onto Lake of Menteith.

I always thought that Lake of Menteith was the only inland body of water in Scotland that is a Lake as opposed to a Loch but apparently it's not unique and in fact there is a Raith Lake in Kirkcaldy quite near to us. Apparently the unusual name is believed to be due to a corruption by 16th-century Dutch cartographers of the Lowland Scots Laich o Menteith, where "laich" simply means "low place".
