Spent the afternoon in A&E with my friend Sue. She was at the school - coaching the girls football team - when she tore her calf muscle. She couldn't walk. I took her to the hospital and waited with her for an hour and a half but had to leave to collect the children.

She called later to say she's on crutches and it could take six weeks to heal.
