Monarch on the Milkweed2

Monarch butterfly on Tropical Milkweed. This butterfly was visiting milkweed plants in a neighbor's yard. I try to only grow native milkweeds since this introduced one is an invasive species and it's unchecked monoculture disrupts the native ecosystem. Tropical milkweed also harbors a protozoan parasite called OE, this parasite in large numbers often causes Monarchs to not be strong enough to emerge from the pupal stage. It also causes the butterflies to have shorter lifespans, be smaller in size and interferes with their ability to fly and migrate successfully.
I have been attempting to introduce Florida native milkweeds, of which there are 21species, into our yard. They are very finicky and not easy to grow. But I keep trying.
