Museum of Dartmoor Life- Call to Arms

This morning  we all visited the Museum of  Dartmoor Life in Okehampton; M and I cycling there while the others went by car. It is in a former corn mill and very interesting without being too large and overwhelming. On the  outside wall is this striking sculpture  created by the  creative design team at Castle Drogo. It represents when the stone masons who were working on the Castle, as well as Adrian  Drewe, heir to the  estate, were called away to fight in the first world war, many never to return. I found it very evocative.
We had a "free" afternoon, before heading off to the village of Chagford for a meal at the  Three Crowns.
During the afternoon, Martin and I drove up to Okehampton Camp for views over Okehampton and of Yes Tor and  the moors, but couldn't get very far as the road was closed due to the  firing ranges being in use.
