Covidiots

Regular readers might remember that last week I was referred to a specialist consultant for - probable - surgery to remove a wisdom tooth.

This morning - 6 days later - the hospital phoned me 3 times before 09:30 (I was in the shower and missed the first 2 calls). Could I take an appointment for tomorrow morning? Well yes, of course.

90 minutes later I got a text to cancel it. I decided to phone to check, and was told the consultant has Covid.

So there we are folks. That is what happens when people spread the virus about and the incidence gets high. A hospital consultant will be out of action for a while, and all his appointments have to be cancelled. They will all have to be re-arranged, and everyone’s treatment is pushed back.

Hopefully this will not have a health impact in my case, but more urgent cases will be pushed back too.

All that aside, I had a busy and useful day. Most of the morning was devoted to housework and half the house now looks acceptable.

I spent most of the afternoon gardening, so plenty bits are now looking good - as they should at the end of June. My coriander and dill seeds germinated a while back and may need some thinning soon. The basil and thyme will need potted out this week. The parsley (both kinds) has emerged too. Come on lemongrass! We need you…

The Blip is just one of the shrubs which flowers in June and always makes the place look brighter.
