View Towards Weybourne

It was another lovely morning here today, so I drove over to Sheringham for a walk up to the Coastguard hut on the top of a hill. It has a lovely view over the golf course towards Weybourne. I think you can see just how dry the area looks after lower levels of rain than average since the end of March and lots of sunny weather too. You can probably also get an idea of why the area is going subject to 'managed retreat' with rising sea levels.

I've just finished watching a fabulous 5 set battle won by Nick Kyrgios, but who was very nearly beaten by 22 year old British wildcard Paul Jubb - a good fight by Paul, who played some great tennis. I do feel sorry for tennis players like Paul who had just started on the senior tour when Covid struck.

Initial results of the population census for 2021 for England and Wales were released today and show that the population of East of England grew by 8.3% since the previous census in 2011, the highest growth of any Region. Yet a report in Dec showed that just £92 per person has been allocated in the East of England under the 'levelling up' drive, compared to £359 pp in parts of the North of England. North Norfolk was found to have the most over 65s of any English region at a third of the population (33.4%).
