Congratulations

Special congratulations to our niece Anna Tebay, head of service for covid-19 test and trace, Oldham Council, who came up with an innovative scheme that saved her council millions of pounds and resulted in her getting a *national award.

Anna said that she was looking for the best response to the
pandemic that would serve their local population. “So we went in a different direction from the government covid testing plans and instead commissioned local pharmacies so that there were loads more choice for people with less travel, and more local languages.

The only problem was that the council processes are very bureaucratic and only big companies know how to bid for council contracts.  So we did guidance sessions, teaching pharmacies how to bid. As a result we saved the council £millions. All done in six weeks which would normally take six months.”

Well-done Anna!
