Bridge of Iron – 1779

This is the bridge at Ironbridge, a great piece of work, although it's not a huge construction. It's a World Heritage site, no less.  We enjoyed our visit, with no real crowds and very helpful locals.

The view of the Severn (Extra) from the bridge was after I tried to use my glass sphere to capture a different sort of view – it was then that I discovered that it acted as a burning glass when the sun was up!  Both Mrs B and I suffered burns, not realising what the pain was for a second or so . . .  I shall have to be very careful from now on.  I suppose that I thought that a sphere would not concentrate rays of light in that way.
