A Time Capsule

This pub front seems to have something of the time capsule about it.  The road signs on the right hark from a bygone age, when British cars were badly made, but when we enjoyed driving them nonetheless. 'Salop' is from my prep school when I was learning to write an address on an envelope and our master was teaching us how to abbreviate county names: I loved Salop as it seemed to have little to do with Shropshire.

The apostrophe could be in the right place or the wrong; Shakespeare was once a playwright, and pubs were once plentiful and thronged with customers.

We are in Bridgnorth and it turns out to be "Dienstag Ruhetag", with the town almost empty in the evening.  Nonetheless we enjoyed a meal at the Himalayan Restaurant which turned out to be serving Indian dishes (and English).  The world was not straightforward this evening.
