If you can't beat them...

Garden Snail ( Cornu aspersum )

A day spent with Kat mainly round her garden.  Despite her interest in the environment and having planted low growing wildflowers over her lawns wild things weren't too much in evidence.

I wasn't going to aim to be out in the garden around 6:00 for the chance of seeing the foxes and the Starlings, which we hardly get in our garden, didn't stay around long enough for me to change lenses.

By looking around carefully I found this garden snail clinging to the wall near a plant.  The Garden Snail is found over most of Europe from the north of Finland to Crete and from Ukraine to the UK.  It seems that in some areas it is prized as a food source.
