Silly Saturday 300!

We felt a little silly when we came across this little creature on a leaf on one of our roses as we had no idea what it was: we had to resort to Google lens to find that it's a ladybird larva.

It seems a bit silly that it has different colouring from an adult ladybird, but of course that's how nature often works.

Anyway, it's not silly for us to be pleased to find it, as apparently they have a voracious appetite for greenflies (as do their adults of course).

As always, Silly Saturday is organised in memory of its late founder, the lovely Admirer, and as today is the first Saturday of the month it's a hosted challenge: I have the honour of being today's host. If you've not yet blipped today, please consider doing a silly blip, tagged SilSJul2022 or SilS300, as today we celebrate the 300th Silly Saturday!

PS I just had to add the extra - a grab shot on my phone which made us giggle: Has our Granddog got so stressed with staying with us that she's  taken up smoking cigars...?!! (Actually it's a chicken chew stick.) I bet Admirer would have enjoyed this one!
