Glasses and a visit

Most of the morning was taken up with travelling into Grafton to the University of Auckland Optometry Clinic, choosing new frames for ordinary glasses and sunglasses, deciding on lenses and getting measurements taken for both frames by a fab machine that does it electronically.  Most interesting.

After lunch we took Mum to visit my daughter, which took up the rest of the afternoon, given that it started to rain heavily, which increased the amount of traffic on the roads.

One good thing is that I managed to take a photo of each side of the sculpture “Hygeia” that I blipped last Thursday and have included both in one collage.  The extra is a photo of another sculpture alongside, which is entitled “Twins”.

There are 10,710 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 8,013 compared to 6,114 last Thursday. The number of people in hospital is 554, including 12 in ICU. Today another 15 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,619 and the seven-day rolling average to 14.
