Starting the long journey home

Monday June 20
This morning it was time to start the long journey home. We said farewell to Jen, but we will be seeing her again in a few weeks, when they stay with us for a few days over the July 4th weekend, as they leave Salt Lake City, headed to the new life in Atlanta Georgia. It was another hot sunny morning, though it began to become a bit more overcast as we drew close to the border of South Dakota and Minnesota. My rather boring blip was taken crossing over the Missouri River, near the town of Chamberlain South Dakota. The Missouri is the longest river in the U.S. Rising in the Rocky Mountains of the Eastern Centennial mountains of Southwestern Montana, the Missouri flows east and south for 2, 341 miles before entering the Mississippi River north of St. Louis. It was a long drive, but fortunately relatively problem-free, and it was quite late before we reached Laura’s apartment in Wausau Wisconsin
