Ribbons

I walked down Commonwealth Avenue again this afternoon to see the magnolias at their peak and in the sunshine. They were truly glorious.

Afterwards, I walked along Boylston Street to see the impromptu memorial to the victims of last Monday's bombing. Hundreds of people were there, paying their respects. The gift giving was being marshaled by a big guy called Kevin who was taking care of all the flowers, soft toys, flags, banners, running shoes and marathon medals. It was very moving.

Further down the street, at Arlington Street Church, the railings were decorated with dozens of prayer ribbons, which I thought made a good subject for today's blip.
