Hot!

We had a bit of a slow start after our late night, pootling around their gorgeous garden which is full of flowers as always (extra) and has a new pond, watching some catch up TV and playing with Paisley who is in sensory overload being able to smell Heston everywhere.
We spent a good chunk of the day at P’s, listening to him (his hearing’s very bad at the moment so there wasn’t much success when we tried to talk), doing gardening, brushing Diesel to help shed his undercoat (extra), tempting P with food (he managed a few strawberries, less than a quarter of a ham sandwich and - with relish - a choc ice!,), shopping, cleaning and setting him up on his iPad to watch the women’s tennis final before we left. We did well, although I found it hard to cope with by the end and needed to come back and have a shower and sit in the garden for a while to relax. What a hot day though….not sure how well I’d cope with this after being used to cooler climes!
Felt restored after a bit of a rest and over to K’s for the evening where we had a lovely roast chicken dinner with Ottolenghi salads and a squidgy chocolate cake for dessert….delish! Lots of chat about babies and grandchildren’s schools, bipolar disorder, imposter syndrome, attitudes to life, being in a rush, sewing, F1 racing etc. Home late….
