The hare and the cows

Another very hot sunny day.  We decided to go for a walk first thing while it was still cool so we headed off for our local favourite walk.  It was very quiet and still as we approached white bridge, many house martins and some swallows were perched high on nearby telegraph wires.  A swan with her 4 cygnets was in the river,  We walked inland first where there was very little bird or butterfly activity.  We looked out for hares in the fields but thought it unlikely we would spot any due to  the height if the vegetation but then we saw a field of grazed grass and my husband spotted a hare sitting at one end.  It was quite far away but wasn't moving which gave me time to put a longer lens on the camera.  Great to see.  Further along the coastal path on our return part of the walk we saw and heard skylarks and then spotted another hare in a field that was covered with white netting.  Several butterflies were also seen including ringlet, gatekeeper and meadow brown.

A lovely walk and good to be back home before it gets too hot.

Later this afternoon I decided to check some of the old SD cards I keep in a box and found the missing one.  I must have realised I hadn't yet downloaded the holiday photos and put it away for safe keeping and then forgot.  Great not to worry about that now.
