On 7/7 i.e. 7th July, traditional says maize/corn grown in this part of the world needs to be 77 cm tall to stand a chance of ripening in time for harvesting in autumn.

I am 186 cm.

Should be noted, 99% of maize grown here is not sweetcorn for human consumption, but will be turned into silage for cow feed & even worse, bio-gas electricity production. Only a very tiny % is used directly as gas in normal gas pipelines  Environmental disaster, another issue that will be sidelined while we have the Russian gas problem.
