Nah & Gut

In our parish capital, Sontheim (1,700 inhabitants) we have a supermarket that has struggled to survive for the 20 years we have lived here, changing hands from Spar to Rewe to Edeka, and for some time being closed all together. The Parish Council has always worked hard to keep it alive but it always seemed to be a losing battle.

However, it seems to have been a *benefit* of Corona that it has now seemed to have attracted new fans. It is a satellite branch of the big Edeka supermarket 3km away at the motorway on Erkheim. Edeka is one of top two German chains, s this satellite has good quality and reasonable prices especially if one mainly buys own brand products.

This display is next to the cash desks and I think is done by a local person/business.There are also in-store sales counters of the village baker and a fresh meat one from a local butcher.
