Towpaths

We continued our canal boat adventure today. Starting near Gargrave, we’ve travelled on towards Leeds and tonight we’re moored at Kildwick. We navigated multiple locks this morning although progress was halted for a while by a damaged lock gate at lunchtime (not by us!). The Canal and River Trust were quickly on the job to get it fixed.

This afternoon locks were replaced by multiple swing bridges. I choose to walk the towpath for much of the day, saving hopping on and off the boat and clocking up 22000 steps in the process!!

Although we’ve had lots of blue sky (see extra), I enjoyed the contrast of old and new for the main blip.
