A Quiet Americana Breakfast

One of my meds requires no food or drink for 30 minutes. I try to use that time to tidy up where needed; today it was putting away dishes. Hubby had already left at 7:00 to take the camper 90 miles for its annual maintenance check. They were unable to find any problems with the water system so maybe they dislodged the debris that was holding the valve open. Glad that is straightened out. I decided to have breakfast outside again since the weather was nice. I sent my kids and sister a photo of it and my sister immediately responded it would make a great blip. Wasn’t thinking of the colors until I looked at it with ‘new eyes’. That fresh watermelon was really tasty. I love being outside. My sister picked up our mother, then me and we took her to the vein specialist for her next procedure, three down and one to go hopefully. The doc struck a nerve and it almost sent her over the edge. Poor woman. Sure hope she gets the promised relief after all these treatments. We went out for a late lunch to get her mind off the pain. It worked. We stopped at Kristen’s to see how big Charlie has gotten since they live right along our route. Growing like a weed and getting cuter each day, except for those razor sharp teeth. Dropped my sister off to get her car and hubby drove us to take Momma home, treating her to a Thin Mint blizzard on the way, her first but I don’t expect it to be her last blizzard. Have heard no news. Except: word on the street says there is a new COVID variant in India. Dang it! Thanks for the visit. Stay safe folks “Breakfast is always the best time for something juicy, sweet and fresh - it just feels like the right way to open the day. There's no right way, though, when it comes to choosing the fruit.” - Yotam Ottolenghi
