Irish colours

A moving on day today. We caught the bus to Cork … that took two hours. Then we picked up the (relatively) cheap hire car I had managed to secure. It’s a small, elderly Kia which is fine by me. It has an ignition key and a handbrake, unlike the last car I hired in Ireland. And it’s much smaller than the cars I usually drive, perfect for Cork roads.

We drove to Kinsale for lunch. I’m not blipping it, because I blipped the corner that everyone blips the last time I was there ( https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2590283067553746397 ).

S wasn’t fit for touristing, so from there we drove on to the hotel I’d booked in Dunmanway — not an ideal location, but the only affordable place I could find. Ireland is madly expensive. The hotel is charmless, showing its 1980s age, but comfortable enough apart from traffic noise. From my after-dinner stroll, I can say that Dunmanway is Dullmanway, but I did find the evening light hitting these buildings. The yellow one is a B&B, maybe we should have stayed there!

Extra: a rather unusual car in the car park. At the front it’s a 2CV.
