The Magic Cube

Originally called the Magic Cube, the Rubik's Cube was invented in 1974 by the Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik. The object of the puzzle is to create order out of an assortment of coloured pieces. Usually this is done by making each side a uniform colour. One alternative is to create a similar pattern, but using two colours on each side.  I quite like the checkerboard pattern, which I think creates an interesting subject for a photo.
