Colour and Light

Some of the colourful, ships figureheads in the Foyer of the Box: Plymouth's Museum and Art Gallery. This was taken from the first floor. Their impact is more marked when viewed from the ground floor. The Box is currently  showing the Reframing Reynolds exhibition alongside modern works by the visual artist Rana Begum. Joshua Reynolds was born 300 years ago today in Plympton St Maurice, a few miles from where his work is currently being exhibited. Reynold's portraits were remarkable for their time, and are still impressive today. The extras show a work by Rana Begum. Her exhibition Dappled Light is a celebration of her continued exploration of the relationship between light, colour and form.
