Harbor

We took a little field trip to the marina this morning, and walked on the paved paths up and down the harbor. The fog was just lifting, the air so fresh and salty, a little breeze ruffled the pennants on their masts, and there was that gentle clanging unique to marinas—something to do with all those ropes and gears. The place was packed with people having breakfast, walking, getting ready to go out on the boats. Stand-up paddle boats, sail boats, motor boats, canoes. Bike riders, strollers, children, dogs. What a gift to breathe the clear, charged air and to be part of this joyous group!
